The Rolling Stones were born from the vision of Brian Jones — a multi-instrumentalist of extraordinary talent who founded the band in London in 1962, gave it its name, and brought in Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Charismatic and restlessly creative, Jones was the original heart of the Stones. Tragically, he died on 3 July 1969, aged 27, found in his swimming pool — one of rock history's most heartbreaking losses.
The band he created went on to become one of the greatest in the world. Sir Mick Jagger — lead singer, songwriter, and one of the most electrifying frontmen in the history of rock and roll — has carried that legacy for over five decades. His voice, his moves, and his presence on stage have defined what it means to perform.
These sepia photographs were taken in Paris in 1991 at a free street concert — an intimate, unplanned moment with one of the greatest rock icons of all time, captured live by our photographer on the streets of Paris.
