Irises is one of the most iconic works painted by Vincent van Gogh during his time at the asylum of Saint-Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France. On May 8, 1889, Van Gogh voluntarily committed himself to the institution following a period of severe mental crisis. Rather than succumb to despair, he threw himself into painting — producing over 130 works during his year-long stay, with the surrounding gardens as his primary subject.
Irises was among the first paintings he completed there. The swirling, energetic brushwork and vivid blue blooms reflect both his extraordinary vitality and his deep need for beauty and order amid personal turmoil.
Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) is one of the most celebrated artists in history, whose post-Impressionist works are renowned for their emotional intensity, vivid color, and expressive power.
This high-quality giclée reproduction captures every detail and brushstroke of the original. Printed on premium large-format photo paper, it brings one of Van Gogh's most beloved works into your home.
