Les Maitres de l'Affiche is a series of small stone lithographs that were offered as a subscription series to collectors at the turn of the century in France. Cheret, who is known for inventing the lithograph poster in Paris, created this subscription in order to promote the poster as an art form and a collectible treasure. The value of Les Maitres de l'Affiche has risen steadily over the past decade and continues to become rarer and highly sought after. Each original Maitre has an embossed stamp in the bottom right corner and is associated with a plate number. They were printed on thick arches paper, painted first on stone.
However, in this Collection , Les Maitre de l'Affiche, we have 7 reproductions on Epson high quality premium luster photo paper.
