Charlie Chaplin and Gandhi in London

The Ghandi Chaplin Memorial Garden has been created in Partnership by Newham Council and Groundwork London, in collaboration with members of the local community. It commemorates Charlie Chaplin's famous meeting with Mahatma Gandhi on the nearby Beckton Road, on 22nd September 1931, when hundreds gathered to catch a glimpse of the famous visitors. The memorial garden has been created utilizing donated materials from multiple sources,
