Texas, 1936. The Dust Bowl has swallowed everything. Woody Guthrie picks up his guitar and heads west, riding boxcars with the dispossessed, singing for people who have nothing left but their dignity. Hal Ashby's Bound for Glory (1976) is one of the great American films — a road movie, a protest song, and a portrait of a man who believed music could change the world.
David Carradine disappears into the role. Haskell Wexler's cinematography won the Oscar. And the Steadicam shots through the migrant camps remain some of the most breathtaking images ever put on film.
This vintage movie poster print is for those who know that "This Land Is Your Land" was always a radical act.
