Mar 17 Saturday : Party at the family house in Huyton, thrown by Dolly, mother of Vera and Joan Brown, who has become engaged to Sam Leach. The Beatles first single release anywhere in the world was 'Love Me Do' on Parlophone Records (EMI) in England on 5 October 1962. The song made it to number 17 on the British charts, not a bad effort for a debut.
